Foreign Investors Optimistic about U.S. Housing Recovery

Foreign real estate investors say they expect to see a recovery of the U.S. housing market by the end of the second quarter of 2010, according to a new survey by the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE). Nearly one-third of respondents said they felt more optimistic about their investment projections for 2009 than they did at the beginning of the year. While three-fourths of respondents had not made any investments so far this year, more than two-thirds plan to invest some debt or equity in U.S. real estate before the end of 2009.
